A large group of sailors headed south joined up with us for awhile. Mile Hammock had about 20 boats in it when we arrived on Wednesday night. They were a group that was traveling the ICW together. It was interesting seeing all the boats one of them was actually named “Adventure” from Deltaville, VA. But how can it be an Adventure when it’s a brand new boat? Shouldn’t have any Adventures with that. Nothing to go wrong or repair. But anyway they joined up with us for a day. The biggest issue was 2 bridges that we had to wait on. One was a Basquel the other was a swing bridge.
The line formed and I have no idea how many boats there were. They rushed from the first bridge to the next so they could get ahead of everyone then they didn’t make it in time and had to wait for the same opening we had. There were a lot of newer boats that cruise faster than Adventure so we were behind. That’s OK we love our boat.
One of the boats had these Huskies on them with the life preservers.
When we got to the bridges there was a long line and we had to wait. I actually threw the anchor out and when I swung around there they all were lined up.
On top of his perch is a pelican.
As we mention wildlife it was a noteworthy day. Tam and I saw a pod of dolphins swim past the boat yesterday. They were right up and close and so great to watch. We were so busy watching we didn’t get the camera.
These were a couple of sculptures that we saw as we were traveling. The one on the right is a bit creepy.
Sails were out again yesterday. That always makes it for more fun. Not overly busy with new sights just a lot of traveling.
We miss all our family and friends.
Today turned into a catch up day and we stayed put while we worked on the fan belt and fixed the external microphone on the VHF radio. So there will not be a post tomorrow but will catch you on Sunday.
