We started in Geneva Ohio headed for Erie PA. It was another rough day on Lake Erie. When we got close to Erie we saw some some interesting Light Houses and saw our second Presque Isle Light House, but our last one was in Michigan and there is another Presque Isle in Pennsylvania.
All of these lighthouses were on Presque Isle PA which is actually a peninsula around the Erie Harbor.
So I looked up Presque in the dictionary. It is French for “almost or hardly or nearly”. So all these are “almost”.
Then when we entered the harbor we had an audience well not really but they were lined up on the wall watching the boats come and go.
The wind was blowing but inside the harbor it was a large bay protected enough from the large open water swells that the harbor was full of sailboats and we were dodging them all the way in.
We went to the Erie Yacht Club. A little out of our league but they didn’t charge us to short term park so we got a spot on the transient dock for a couple of hours.
The surprise was it was right in front of the club house and a wedding was going on. I took a few pictures but we were a bit under dressed and didn’t quite fit in.
OK time to be on the way.
Still looking for more Dinghy name ideas so keep them coming. In the next few days we will provide a list of the ones we have so far and narrow down the choices.
Thanks All and have a great day.
